Since the pandemic, many Indian producers have found customers in America, as buyers there looked for a second source after China. For many of them the next step is to be in the US market properly, and there is more than one way to do it. Each route costs a different amount, takes a different time, and commits you to the market to a different degree. The study sets them side by side, so the choice is made on the figures.
The routes
You can sell through a distributor, open a sales office, set up your own company, run a facility there, or buy a US business. For each route we set out what it costs to set up and to run, what it needs in registrations and people, and how long before it earns.
Which way trade should run
In some products American supply is cheaper, and importing from the US makes more sense than exporting to it. We work out the landed cost in both directions, product by product.
Duties and registrations
Your duty position as an importer today, and under each route.
Buying a business
Where buying is the route, a screened list of candidates by segment and region, with financials where they are public.
Key contacts
Key contacts at US buyers and distributors for your product, so you can start the first conversations early.
We are not lawyers, bankers or accountants. We work alongside our associates in the US, who are, and bring them in where the study needs them.
The study takes six to twelve weeks, depending on the route. We need your product range, your current export position and the capital available.
