PVC prices were on the upswing, influenced by rising prices in the Asian region. In the South East Asian region moved up from around $1,022/MT CFR to approximately $1,052/MT CFR. In a sharp contrast, demand in the Indian markets weakened as the onset of rainy season weakened demand for pipes, the predominant end-industry.

Prices of the material hovered at around Rs 90-92/KG in the major markets in the country.

Stocks of the material were in abundance as domestic producers released supplies consistently. Moreover, steady influx of imports into the country strengthened the stock situation in the country's markets.

In the country, demand for the material is growing at around 9% annually. Demand for the PVC material, in 2013-14, was at around 2,478 MT.
