If you make a product, you need to know who else is about to make it. Most forecasts simply add up announced capacity. But projects slip, some are shelved, and some expansions arrive without any announcement at all.

We start from our project monitoring software, which tracks companies, plants, units and projects across India, with capacity, stage and expected start-up. Our engineers keep it updated through research and regular calls to the companies, and each project is revised as it moves. We take the new plants in your product lines from it and mark how likely each start date is: an announced project is less certain than one under construction.

Demand
Built up from converters by end use and region, not projected from GDP or sector growth rates.

The balance
Supply against demand year by year to 2030-31, with the imports that follow, and the assumptions it depends on set out in numbers. Where the evidence is thin, we say so.

What it means for you
When the extra tonnes are likely to reach the market, where they will go, and how that changes the competition you face. You also get the key contacts at the companies building the new plants.

Updates
If you want them, we revise the study every quarter as projects move, with each change dated.

A study takes eight to ten weeks. We need the product and grades to be covered, and the region you are interested in. Our published Forecasts under Products & Services also run to 2030-31.

Already have a plan?
If you already have a plan or a project report, our Independent market check tests its assumptions in two to three weeks.
