There are three forecast services. One covers prices for the products we assess every day. The other two come from our project monitoring software and cover the plants and expansions coming up across India: when they will be commissioned, what they will need, and whom to call.
The software tracks companies, plants, units and projects across India, with capacity, stage of the project and expected start-up. Our engineers keep it current through research and regular calls to the companies and their EPC contractors, revising each project as it moves. Every date comes with a note of how firm it is, because an announced project is less certain than one under construction. Our longest forecasts run to 2030-31.
Price
Where prices are likely to go over the next one, three, six and twelve months, and over three and five years, to 2030-31. The forecasts draw on our price history for each grade and market, the supply side, and new demand from the project data. Each one gives its reasons, and what would change our view.
Demand
What each new plant will need, raw materials, intermediates, fuel, gas and power, and from when, with the names, designations and phone numbers of the people who handle purchase.
Equipment and services
What each project will need to buy, usually known three to six months before the RFQ and sometimes a year or two ahead, with the decision makers at the promoter, the EPC contractor and the subcontractors.
For a study built around one product or market, see Demand and capacity forecasting under Consulting.
