Whether you are a foreign producer looking at India, or an Indian company launching a new product or grade, the size of the market is the easy part. Anyone can quote a demand figure. The harder questions are who already supplies the buyers, at what price and on what credit terms, and how hard they will fight to keep them.
We answer those questions the way we set our daily prices: by asking the buyers, sellers and traders our analysts speak to every day, and setting what they tell us against our price history for the grade.
Your competitors
Who supplies the market now, and at roughly what price and terms.
Your market
Demand by end use and region, built up from the converters who actually buy, with the buyers named. We do not project it from sector totals.
Your suppliers and costs
Where the raw material comes from, and the landed cost by port and route, with freight, duty, clearing and credit shown separately and set against the delivered price of the current supplier.
Duties and regulations
The duty structure, the registrations you will need, and any change in force or under discussion that would move the landed cost.
You get all of this before you commit, with a clear recommendation and the figures behind it. You also get the key contacts at the buyers, distributors and suppliers you will be dealing with, so the first conversations can start straight away.
A study usually takes four to six weeks, with one analyst, one editor and one sector specialist on it. To start, we need the product, its grade specification, the volume you have in mind, where it will come from and the port you plan to use.
