A consulting study here answers one question for one client. Should we enter India with this grade? Are we paying too much? Which new plants will change our market, and when? The question comes first, and the study is built around the decision it has to support.
The work comes out of our daily price desk. The analysts who assess prices every working day talk to buyers, sellers and traders as a matter of routine, and the same people do the studies. That is what a client pays for: people who already know the market, and the people in it.
What we draw on
Ten years of daily prices: 376 products, 7,601 grades and 200 locations. Our project monitoring software, which tracks the plants and projects coming up across India; our engineers keep it current through research and regular calls to the companies. And our contacts across the industry, including the people who handle purchase at plants across India. Where a study needs key contacts, you get them.
How a study runs
It starts with a short conversation about the decision. Each study is priced separately after that conversation, and the scope, time and fee are agreed in writing before any work begins. A named analyst stays with the study from start to finish, with a sector specialist alongside and an editor on the written report. Most studies take between two and twelve weeks; each service page gives its own timing.
Confidentiality, both ways
A client’s data is used only for that client’s study. We do not keep it afterwards, and it never goes into our published prices. The other way round, anything a source tells the price desk in confidence is not passed to a client.
We cover the same six sectors as our daily prices: petrochemicals, chemicals, fibre, rubber, energy, and paper and pulp. The seven services are listed under Services, each with its own page and a short brochure.
We offer seven services. Each has its own page and a short brochure.
