E&P contracting brief: Part I – 27 Nov 2025

Nov 27, 2025

1) ONGC hard chrome tender pulls rig-critical repair work into three-month, high-liability job-shop mandate in ONGC CWS Vadodara hard chrome plating project.

ONGC CWS Vadodara has turned a routine chrome-plating job into a tightly scripted service contract covering geometry, hardness bands and IS-linked finish.

A 150 kilometre facility radius, per-item insurance slabs and six-month performance warranties shift custody and risk squarely onto local job-shops.

How bidders price that mix of technical precision and liability will decide whether this becomes a replicable template for other rig-repair scopes.

2) Four-year mechanised tank sludge-cleaning mandate in Oil India tank bottom sludge evacuation project.

Oil India has bundled thirty storage tanks and nearly 13,000 cu m of sludge into a single, four-year mechanised cleaning and inspection contract.

Arham Oil Gas Products And Services Private Limited has taken the L1 slot at about Rs 26.24 crore under a clause-dense GeM framework.

How that price balances HSE-heavy obligations, hazardous-waste liabilities and multi-site deployment demands will decide whether this becomes benchmark or cautionary tale.

3) LP gas compression O&M contract in ONGC Rajahmundry LP gas compression O&M.

ONGC has handed its three-year LP gas compression O&M job at Tatipaka and Mandapeta to Teja Engineering with a bid far below the rest of the field.

A detailed SOW and updated customs/GST and MSE clauses load heavy operational and compliance obligations onto the contractor.

How those obligations intersect with such aggressive pricing will decide whether this becomes a new benchmark or a one-off gamble.

4) Three-year offshore weather-forecast mandate

ONGC has handed its offshore weather-intelligence reins to Skymet in a tightly specified, API-driven GeM contract.

The three-year mandate covers everything from daily sea-state calls to cyclone track bulletins for both western and eastern offshore theatres.

What that price buys in terms of model capability, uptime and real-world decision support will now be watched far beyond the met-services community.
