Technically, the crossing set (eight HDDs, including a ~1.3 km long shot and a hill crossing of ~1.1 km) demands high-end rigs, robust mud systems, and contingency drill strings (≥150% length ready on site)—a bar the IFB codifies through equipment and inspection requirements. This materially narrows the credible vendor pool, explaining BPCL/EIL’s tolerance for multiple extensions to preserve competitiveness.
