Core in decline: Vedanta’s flagship oil fields slip 21% despite EOR push – 19 Jun 2025

Vedanta’s upstream operations clocked 103 kboepd in FY25—down from 127.5 kboepd last year. It’s the biggest annual drop in a decade, masked by early-stage optimism around new discoveries.

Even 28 infill wells and ASP injections couldn’t stem the fall at Barmer. Gross production dropped sharply across Rajasthan, with legacy blocks no longer holding the line.

Cambay’s decline—from 8.9 to 5.1 kboepd—outpaces even Barmer, putting a question mark on its recovery strategy and cost viability.

While early production has begun from OALP blocks like Jaya and new reserves added at Rudra-1, total contribution rose by just 2.4 kboepd—nowhere near compensating for the Rajasthan slide.
