The gas story in India is not a really great one

Domestic production is slated to decline

LNG demand will go up, and sadly for the industry, a regulator has now decided to turn its attention on this segment, in all likelihood throttling free market competition and delaying setting up of projects

The breakneck speed at which CGD infrastructure has been set up has not seen a concomitant increase in demand for gas

Gas is also a highly price elastic product and the market once lost to competing fuels never comes back again to the same level
