India's steel production and consumption fell in February – 6 Mar 2023

India's output and consumption of finished steel both decreased from January to February, and yet the nation continued to be a net importer of steel for the fifth consecutive month. Provisional figures show that production of finished steel decreased by 7.9 per cent on a monthly basis to 9.87 million tonnes in February, but was 2.9 percent higher on an annual basis. Alloyed and non-alloyed steel make up finished steel.
