ArcelorMittal is set to expand its steel footprint in India – 22 Feb 2023

ArcelorMittal, the world's largest steelmaker headed by Lakshmi Mittal, plans to increase its steel presence in India by expanding the Hazira plant, building additional capacity in Odisha, and acquiring NMDC's steel factory and Indian Steel Company. The business, together with joint venture partner Nippon Steel, is investing 60,000 crores to increase its steelmaking capacity at Hazira from 9MT to 15MT per year.
