December saw the highest global oil demand – 21 Feb 2023

Global crude oil consumption climbed to 1.3 million barrels per day in December, the highest level on record, primarily to increasing consumption in Japan, Indonesia, and South Korea, with overall demand 102% higher than pre-Covid levels in December 2019. While global demand climbed in December, output fell to a five-month low due to lower supply from the US and the UK.
