Integrated drilling services require a lot of sophisticated consultations between the bidder and the operator.

Drilling continues to remain an inexact science even now despite the improvements in technology, and all conditions will have to be taken into account by the bidder while doing a complete drilling job

In one sense, the operator is transferring some of his own risks to the bidder when looking for an integrated job.

Cairn India had been doing this jobs and complications have often arisen between the service provider and the operator.

Here is another company trying to repeat the same process and now it is in the midst of answering all the queries.

Normal rig owners will not have the technology to bid for such work and it will have to be the multinationals who have everything, including all the tools under one window, who will be able to execute it.

Normally bidders are reticent to try out this new model with all and sundry, for when complications arise, payments can become a problem.

The fact that there is an active clarification process on means that there is interest in this new job.

Eventually who puts in their bids remains to be seen.
