ONGC had wanted a partnership with the likes of Shell, ExxonMobil, Total, Equinor, Petronas, Chevran and Petrobras for its deepwater foray in Cluster-3 of the KG-DWN-98/2 and the HPHT Deendayal field.

There was only one who showed a roundabout interest
