NRL is has bet on an European technology that had not moved from the pilot phase ever before, and costs have escalated, more than doubling from the initial estimate, sending cost-economics haywire

Then there is another plant coming up, in Bargarh, but here again cost escalation, technology uncertainity has bogged the plant. Tata Projects was selected as a partner and then dropped

On this background, now emerges a new global 2G technology that is based on much firmer foundations, the moot point is whether it will work for India?
