Megha Engineering & Infrastructure Ltd is in the process of handing over the first lot of new-generation 2000 HP, new generation onland drilling rigs. The one that was delivered today was a High Pressure High Temperatue rig

Megha has a Rs 6000 crore order from ONGC to supply onland drilling and workover rigs

Despite COVID and logistical issues that followed, the rigs are being rolled out with the help of 30 to 40 Drillmech experts (the European drilling company that Megha took over) based out of India

There are also dozens of Megha engineers who were involved in the rig building process

"We are trying to deliver the rigs as per our promised timelines, Megha said. ONGC has extended the timeline for deliveries due to COIVD and there is no LD levied on us," company executives emphasised

Rigs are most likely also going to be operated by Megha personnel. Also, Megha is now trying to be a global player, at highly competitive rates, and one order has come in from Mexico
