The cost of the Numaligarh bio-ethanol project has almost doubled from the DFR stage.

And the IRR is stretched and pegged at 11%, just above the hurdle rate. It is known as company officials are tightlipped whether this hurdle rate is after taking into account the various incentives handed out to the North East

It is an untested technology, and this is the first fully scaled up model and NRL and India is the petri dish for this technology

If the IRR falls below double digit, who should be held responsible? A lot of things go on in the name of investing in the North East, and some decisions need to be called out
