HDPE off-takes were moderate in the Mumbai market today, after producers hiked their ex-work prices for the polymer last week. Some traders in the market also said that they received fresh supplies from producers. Most buyers continued to procure the raw material on need-basis.

A HDPE bag manufacturer said," We are running our manufacturing unit at high rates as demand for our end-products is active. We are producing the raw material on need-basis."

Besides, affinity for importing the raw material was learnt to be low among buyers these days.

In the Mumbai market today, HDPE (HM) was sold at around Rs 120-123 a kg; Blow Moulding and Injection Moulding grades of the HDPE material were sold at around Rs 119-120 a kg and Rs 115-117 a kg respectively in the market; Film and Raffia grades of HDPE in the market were sold at around Rs 122-124 a kg and Rs 120-123 a kg respectively.
