Vigorous manufacturing of PP end-products in the National Capital Region has strengthened demand for the polymer significantly. Many traders in the Delhi market told Indianpetrochem today that sales of the polymer were robust, and they expected the demand conditions to remain strong in the coming days. Price of the polymer, thus, could be expected not to move down in the near term. In the Delhi market today, the Raffia, Injection Moulding and Film grades of the PP material were sold at around Rs 118 a kg, Rs 118.50 a kg and Rs 123.50 a kg respectively.

A diverse PP item manufacturer in Delhi told the website that his manufacturing activities were going on in full swing as demand for the end-products was strong. He also revealed that he procured bulk quantities of the PP material to sustain his manufacturing activities. He also revealed that he preferred the local markets for raw material procurement, and was not keen in booking against the import offers.

A market research conducted today also revealed that the packaging sector accounted for the most PP demand, among other end-user sectors.

Besides, the current PP (IM) offer from Saudi Arabia was learnt to be at $1,560 per metric tonne CIF, for shipment in the next month.
