Current EVA prices keep buyers away from active buying – 27 Jan 2014
Jan 27, 2014
The EVA trading atmosphere in the major polymer markets in India has been inactive as most buyers lessened their buying volumes as the prevailing price of the polymer was high. However, the EVA trading is expected to gain momentum by the second half of the next month, as manufacturing of the end-products are expected to pick up. A Mumbai-based trader told Indianpetrochem in the context of the current market conditions for the polymer," EVA sales are down these days due to the prevailing prices. Buyers seems to wait for some moderation in the price."
Some end-users, contacted by the website, told that they were waiting for some downward movements in the price of the polymer. In the meantime, they were also carried out their manufacturing activities, without any curtailment, as they said. They also said that they confronted with no supply disruption in the markets.
Taking into account the prevailing demand pattern, stock situation in markets and import price parity, EVA price in the country is not expected to move significantly upwards in the coming days.
The latest EVA offer to India from South Korea was learnt to be at $1,950 per metric tonne CIF. Besides, price of the polymer has not undergone any major fluctuation these days.
