HDPE prices are not likely to go up in India in the coming days as demand conditions are not strong to cause any impact on the prices. Currently, demand for the polymer is not active due to slow-down of end-industries. A Delhi-based HDPE Woven bag manufacturer told Indianpetrochem," We have lowered our HDPE purchases as our factory is operating at a low rate due to demand for our bags being sluggish."
Traders in the Delhi market also told the website that their HDPE sales were not active. And, they thus did not expect any upward movement in the price in the days to come.
HDPE purchases were moderately active in the Mumbai market. Some end-users carried out active manufacturing activities in their units. They preferred to buy the raw material in accordance to their immediate needs in view of uncertain price outlook.
In the Mumbai market today, the High Molecular, Blow Moulding and Injection grades of the HDPE material were sold at around Rs 126-127 a kg, Rs 123-124 a kg and Rs 119-121 a kg respectively.
