LDPE price to stay stable in Indian markets in the near term; demand to strengthen – 27 Mar 2014

Demand for LDPE is moderately active in Indian markets, and price of the polymer has remained almost stable. The demand conditions have been affected by most buyers restricting their purchases in the terminal days of the fiscal. In the Mumbai market today, demand for the polymer was moderate, and many traders expected that demand for the polymer will rise in the coming days. A trader in the Mumbai market told Indianpetrochem," Demand for the LDPE material is moderately active in the market, and there are indications of the demand to strengthen in the coming days."
A LDPE Film manufacturer said," We are adhering to the need-based buying strategy in our raw material purchases as the demand pattern for our end-product is uniform."
In the Delhi market, moderate demand for the polymer prevailed, according to a trader contacted in the market. Stocks of the material in the market was low in the market on account of non-receipt of fresh supplies, the trader said.
Today, the Film grade of the LDPE material was sold in the Mumbai market at around Rs 138-139 per kg, and the Injection Moulding grade of the polymer at around Rs 136-137 a kg. Traders in the market expected the price to stay stable in the near future.
