Producer PP price reductions fail to invigorate purchases in Indian markets – 2 Apr 2014

Off-takes of the polymer are inactive on account of slow-down in the end-user industries. In the context, a Delhi-based trader told Indianpetrochem," There is no improvement in PP off-takes, even after producers lowering their prices for the polymer." He further commented," Demand for the polymer is weak as end-industries are not active in manufacturing activities. In such circumstances, it is difficult to predict when the demand will strengthen." 
 

 

Recently, Reliance Industries Limited and Indian Oil Corporation Limited lowered their ex-work PP prices by Re 1 a kg respectively, apparently on account of the weak demand conditions, and gradual appreciation of the Indian currency.
