Apr 04, 2014
US-based Lubrizol Corporation will set up the maiden Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride (CPVC) plant India. The plant, to be set up at Bharuch in Dahej of Gujarat, is important in view of easing the import dependency in the country in respect to the raw material, used mainly in manufacture of pipes and plumbing items.
The plant is expected to be operational by the first quarter of 2015, and will produce 55,000 tonne per annum of CPVC. The production will not only be channelized to cater to the domestic demand in the country but also to that in emerging markets in the South Asian region.
As a matter of fact, CPVC is imported into India from the US, Japan and China.
