The website gathers from its price database that the price of the chemical peaked two weeks ago at around Rs. 250 per kg (barrel price, exclusive of all taxes). The hike in price was primarily due to shortage of the chemical at major ports, Ex- Kandla and Ex- Mumbai. However, the situation has turned around for the chemical, whereby the short supply situation has been curbed and the prices have been on a downtrend since the past few weeks, while the demand has been moderate to poor in Mumbai and Ahmedabad market.
