Sluggish demand for C9 solvent pulls prices in India – 23 May 2014

The bulk price of C9 solvent have been on a downtrend since the beginning of this week. At present the bulk price ex- Kandla has stabilized at levels of Rs. 74 per kg, exclusive of all taxes. This review captures the demand sentiment for the chemical in the Indian market.

 

Since the beginning of this month, the price for C9 solvent have witness a bear rally. the prices were at range of Rs. 77. 5 per kg in the beginning of the month, but then declined to Rs. 75.5 per kg and currently stablized at Rs. 74 per kg since this week, all prices are exclusive of all taxes.

 

Most traders in the market cite direct booking of the chemical by end -users customers to be the primary cause for the lag in demand in the open market, according to the websites conversations with various traders.

 

C9 solvent finds application in high build coating, PVC and screen printing ink, agrochemicals and oil field chemicals.

 

Its expected that the price of C9 solvent is expected to decline further in the near term on account of a lull in demand from most end- user segment, according to Indianpetrochem conversations with various traders.
