ONGC's leap of faith: Production wells at 2500 metres planned – 19 Oct 2021

What ONGC is trying to do is clearly nothing short of a leap of faith.

It plans to dig the furthest deepwater production wells that anyone had done in India and only a few had been so adventurous worldwide

The bathymetry indicates that the field lies in the abyssal plains with water depth reaching from 2840 mts to 2500 mts over a 50 km distance and to 2000 mts over an 85 km distance

And ONGC is looking for assistance to do so
