PET price to remain stable in the near term; Strong demand to continue – 3 Jun 2014

PET buyers in India can expect no further price decline after the recent price reduction by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL). An analysis reveals that the price reduction was done on account of international price influence, although demand conditions is strong, on active manufacturing of beverage bottles in the country. 
 

However, producers in the country are not expected to further lower their ex-work prices, and the price is, thus, expected to remain stable in the near term.
 

PET is sold in the major markets in the country at around Rs 100 a kg. While, the prevailing ex-work price of the material is at Rs 95 a kg (RIL).
