Indian markets to see stable Toluene prices on prevalence of uniform demand – 24 Sep 2014
Sep 24, 2014
Uniform demand conditions for Toluene, prevailing in the major Indian markets, aptly indicate that the price will not be deviated significantly from the prevailing rates in the coming days. Active purchases by the paint and pharmaceutical industries, the major consumers of the solvents, are also expected to continue in the near term as full-fledged production activities are going on in these industries.
The uniform demand conditions also indicate that there will be no major fluctuation in the price, at least upto the end of this month. However, the paint industry is also specualted to slow down by early next month, and this will result in demand for the aromatic weakening. Consequently, the price of the aromatic is also likely to go down then.
Toluene prices, on ex-Kandla and ex-Mumbai basis, have been stable at Rs 76-77 a kg during the recent past. In the international market, price of Toluene, as on September 24,2014, was recorded at $1,060 per metric tonne FOB South Korea.
While, price of Toluene on September 24,2014 was recorded at $1,075 per metric tonne and at $1,115 per metric tonne from CFR Japan and CFR South East Asia respectively.
