ABS prices reeling under pressure in Indian markets on inadequate stocks – 29 Sep 2014

ABS prices have come under pressure in the open markets of India as stocks of the engineering polymer dwindled on prevalence of active demand. Traders were unable to replenish the lessening stocks due to non-arrival of fresh import shipments. Demand has been getting strong due to active manufacturing in the end-industries: automotive and appliance. Traders told the website that the buyers placed orders of bulk quantities, but, the available stocks were inadequate to cater to the prevailing demand.
Although, the domestic producers are carrying out production in full capacities, but the supplies are falling behind the demand.
In the major polymer markets of the country, prices of the Natural and Coloured variants of the ABS material were quoated at around Rs 159-162 a kg and Rs 172-174 a kg respectively.
