Aromatic Price to Go Down in India on Falling Crude Oil Prices, Low Demand – 15 Oct 2014

The prospect of aromatic prices declining in India as a consequence of Crude Oil price fall is evident in market atmosphere in the country. Market participants in the country expect that Indian markets will witness remarkable price fall for aromatics: Benzene, Toluene, Xylene from the next month, not only due to oil prices declining but also on account of slowing demand from paint and pharma industries.
Traders in the country are in the mood of liquidating their available inventories because of the prospective price downslides.
The prevailing prices (bulk) for Benzene, Toluene and Mix Xylene are Rs 77.70 per kg, Rs76 per kg and Rs 77.5 per kg respectively in the major markets in the country. While prevailing International prices of the solvents are as follows:
Benzene CFR Japan and FOB Korea are $1165 and $1160 per metric tonne respectively;
Toluene CFR Japan and FOB Korea are $1036 and $1015 per metric tonne respectively;
Mix Xylene (Solvent grade) CFR South East Asia and FOB Korea are $950 and $905 per metric tonne respectively
