IPA Demand to Rise in India With Winter Season Setting In; Price Not Likely to Go Up – 29 Oct 2014

IPA prices are expected to moderate from the beginning of the next month on account of import booking price going down, and massive import consignments set to reach the country's shores. Currently, bulk price of the chemical is at Rs 89 a kg, ex-Kandla. Domestic Fertilizer and Petrochemical Corporation has quoted its ex-work price for the chemical at Rs 90 a kg.

Demand for the chemical is expected to strengthen considerably from the onset of November 2014, and consumption from the cosmetic industry will also go up to cater to the demand during the winter season. Meanwhile, demand for IPA has been strong from the pharmaceutical and printing industries, and the trend is likely to continue further.

Traders are in a mood to maintain huge inventories of the chemical in the prospect of actively disposing off in the winter season, in strong demand conditions.
