Phenol Prices Move Southwards in India on International Price Downslides – 5 Nov 2014

Phenol prices are expected to go down further within this month as the prices in international markets are going down significantly due to falling Crude Oil prices. The international market trend has led buyers to postpone their purchases and wait for the price to decline further. There is also no prospect of the demand to strengthen as it normally weakens during the winter season.

Phenol prices in Indian markets have gone down to around Rs 104-105 a kg from around Rs 110 a kg, prevailed a couple of weeks ago. Import booking price also has gone down to $1,510 per metric tonne CIF from $1,800 per metric tonne CIF, prevailed last month.

Moreover, Herdellia has also lowered its ex-work price to Rs 114 a kg from Rs 121 a kg. Stocks are ample with traders.
