In 2014, the largest consumer of government subsidies was the oil & gas segment in the energy segment.

But the largest consumer of subsidies is not the coal or the renewal industry and of course, it is not fertilizers (as that is a different segment), it is another category and it is allocated an annual subsidy of a whopping Rs 1.30 lakh crore
