Vigorous growth of polymer industries In forthcoming years in Nepal – 21 Dec 2014

Plast Nepal, First Plastic exhibition in Nepal held on 14-16 November 2014 at Kathmandu to promote polymer industries and awareness about plastic. According to our sources, the total of 134 exhibitors showcased their product and services, including 84 from various countries. Polymer demand will grow up in the Country by 10-12% in coming years. Mainly this demand will increase in the PP and PET sector because of Indian's Reliance Cement is planning to set up a plant of cement in Nepal, Some Bottle manufacturer also are planning to set up industries and recently some domestic industries had been depending on imported material but now are purchasing toward domestic material. The Neapl's Government has been assured a$1 Billion credit line from Neighbor Country India for development of Hydropower and some other Domestic infrastructure
Nepal's Government has been assured a$1 Billion credit line from Neighbor Country India for development of Hydropower and some other Domestic infrastructure. The credit facility was announced by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his Nepal visit in August 2014, will cover funding for Nepal’s 600-megawatt (MW) hydroelectric project, irrigation schemes, as well as some road projects. Nepal has also planned to Sep up small hydropower unit to directed energy shortage. Polymer resin import this year is estimated around 170 MT.
At presently Nepal market is going through very dull situation because of polymer demand is slow and stocks are available in abundance with traders.End users are not interested in purchasing because of downward trend of Polymer and Feed stock in international market. They are adapting wait and watch mode and purchasing on need basis.
At presently, Price of the Injection Moulding grade of PP and HDPE was reported at 208 NPR/Rs and 210 NPR/Kg respectively.
