Dull PVC demand prevails in India – 15 Dec 2014

The drop in Crude Oil price has created a lot of uncertainties in global markets. This unstability has adversely effected the sentiments for global polymer markets, including India. Decline in rupee's value has only attributed to this constant fall in the Crude Oil prices. PVC price was assimilated to be declining in the market as the price of the principal feedstock i.e. EDC and VCM journeyed southward in the key Asian region.
In communication with the traders in the market, Indianpetrochem gathered information that demand for PVC continues to move in a downward trajectory, while price for the respective polymer rules static in the market after the price revision by RIL.
Some market participants also shared their comment on the ongoing market trend that they are expecting that price for the respective polymer will move further downward in the near future trade.
Price for the PVC resin was assessed at Rs 70 a kg.
