Phenol import price expected to go down
There are huge stocks of Phenol at the Kandla port. At present there is around 18300 MT of phenol is available at the port. Shipment of up to 9000 MT is expected to arrive soon at the Kandla port. Phenol prices in the Indian domestic market may fall during the last week of December , when these imported cargoes reach the Indian shores, market sources informed Indianpetrochem on Wednesday.

The shipment will soon arrive at the Kandla port and local buyers are just holding back their purchases to buy something cheaper.


According to the traders from different markets of India, phenol prices may come down due to huge stocks available at the Kandla port.

Currently, Phenol prices are being traded at Indian rupee Rs 63 per kg ex-tank in Kandla.

Indianpetrochem also take review by the producer of Phenol (SI group) who Shut down their Phenol plant earlier due to poor demand.
An official from SI group told the website, “ SI group shut down its phenol plant due to poor demand of the phenol in the market at that moment, last quotation of phenol is Rs 82 per kg.”

He further added plant will be resumed in the beginning of January,2015 and price will be settled as per import price parity.
