SRMC of US LNG exports go up but GAIL still makes a neat profit – 6 Jul 2021

The short-run marginal cost (SRMC) of US LNG exports to the Asian market has risen to about $5.60/mn Btu as of June 2021, up 65% from $3.4/mn Btu in mid-2020 and 30% higher than last year’s average of $4.30/mn Btu.

Clearly, with spot prices at $12/mmbtu, GAIL cargoes into India can easily turn in profits
