Indian oil imports to drop 10% over next six years – 23 Mar 2016

India will cut oil imports by 10 per cent in next six years by raising domestic output, conserving fuel and shifting to alternate sources like natural gas, Oil Minister Dharmendra Pradhan said today.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has set us a target of reducing oil import dependence by 10 per cent by 2022. We are confident of achieving that in six years," he said at an event here.
