With business now focused in Asia, all of the world's major companies are now in India trying to do business.

This is particularly true for the refining and petrochemical segment. Engineering companies are trying to get into the EPC space and those into engineering consultancies are trying to bid for as many projects as possible.

So while project promoters complain of higher than estimated costs, this is not usually because of any death in competition but account of faulty estimates.
